Primary Sponsor of the SLED Background Check for Daycare Worker’s Act
This law requires that all persons seeking employment or providing care in day care centers undergo a fingerprint review to be conducted by the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). - Primary Sponsor of the Smoke-Free Daycare Facility Act
- Primary Sponsor of the Mortgage Loan Originator’s Licensing Act
This law clearly defines a mortgage broker and a processor; specifying the responsibilities of mortgage loan originators to provide licensure, renewal fees and regulation. - Primary Sponsor of the Youth Mentoring Act
This law requires that the S.C. Attorney General establish a youth mentor program for nonviolent offenders, consisting of a church mentor program and a community mentor program, and providing that participation in the program be required as a pre-trail option. - Co-Sponsor of the Criminal Gang Prevention Act
